Many thanks to Alvin (the one who likes the ice cream from upper thomson) who managed to resurrect my laptop!!! Beginning on a new, clean slate has never felt better after reformatting. The past two weeks after coming back from japan have been hectic... spent everyday catching up with old friends whom i haven't met in ages.

First up,

this is Mr. Wong.

The one who taught me the proper way to play pool, previously i played single-handedly (with one hand). But no... if by chance i managed to win a game, i didn't do it single-handedly either.

He is also the heir to Venezia. But he's taken.

And this is Josh. Lovingly known as Jojobaba. Ah well, he bobs his head when he speaks.

Alas, i don't have a solo photo of jem but here's my 3 favourite people during jc days.

So what was jc life like? Like how Jem puts it - " skipping school, coming to class after 11am (own time own target), hiding in the library while looking up cinema tickets online, playing pool, hanging out in town and eating far east chicken rice." Well, anything but study.

Yakitori at cuppage is still the best since the japanese are not big on lamb. The lamb is 7 bucks per stick but hey it's totally worth it. And..... mala steamboat and dimsum lunch coming up! Yay...

adapting to the change in temperature is no joke. from a mere -1 degrees to 30+ degrees in sunny singapore ( well, i missed the rainy season *sniggers*), we were practically melting in changi airport. the moment we touched down, japan was sorely missed. We will definitely be back during spring to see the cherry blossoms!

the past two weeks...were basically a mad rush preparing for my brother's wedding(s), shopping (hoho!) for everything else but winter clothes, preparing for japan and meeting up with friends since i won't be around during christmas and New Year.

the past two weeks...i spent more than 1k in shopping (excluding air ticket -_- it's the 2nd item that i paid for myself! yayyy ok wadeva). but it appears that i didn't buy that much, or maybe some would think otherwise. So now my account balance is horribly low but thank goodness for the p-word. PARENTS. heh, wad were u thinking?

we only had one day to spare for catching-up since lu flew to kl the next day and when she's back, i'm flying off.

the past two weeks... i cried during my brother's church wedding as i watched him marry my now sis-in-law after 6 winters spent overseas. he even composed a song for her and sang it in front of everyone.

the past two weeks... i realised it's so expensive to rear a child. The thought of bringing someone up like me is terrifying when i can actually make full payment for a private apartment in replacement.

the past two weeks... i found out that my dog has more variety in her wardrobe than i do. how tragic.

and.. it's off to Japan with the bitches minus tong for 2 weeks!!! =D Thanks to lu who went to tokyo-kyoto-mount fuji-and i dunno where for 2 weeks in june and she assured me that expenditure in japan will not be that expensive (less than $3k? for 2 weeks) and since her spending habits can rival mine, so holy cow! let's go let's go let's go!!!! Plus it's winter now, we can walk around in boots and winter clothes UFOOOOO!

Writing essays used to be an enjoyable experience and I’m really sad to announce that right now, it has relegated to the status of a chore. Inspiration and desire to do research, the adrenaline rush when I manage to find suitable literature research have totally vanished from my system. How mortifying indeed.

It took me an embarrassing 2 to 3 days inclusive of almost sleepless nights to complete a mere 2000 words. Before you people protest and complain that this is the standard length of time, well that is not the case for an Arts student. And due to my lack of motivation, I took 2 hour naps after every 2 hours of work which obviously slowed down the whole writing process tremendously.

To digress, happy birthday dearest Su Ann Koh! Kindly do not jump on me while I’m still sitting on the massage chair. Added weight on painful apparatus will lead to severe contortions of the body + agonizing pain. And be reminded that we will still make you pissed drunk on your next birthday, and the next… and the next.

i've been getting too lazy to update but a short summarized version should do:

Attended 2 wedding preparation sessions the past week. Bryan's sis's pre-wedding food tasting session (gosh what a mouthful) at The Oriental was an eye-opener. The food was different from the usual boring traditional chinese food fare because the menu was tweaked to cater to the younger crowd. Think passion fruit pudding for dessert instead of cheng teng. My cousin got hitched over the weekend and it was totally unexpected and no, it was not a shotgun wedding. Got bombarded with jibes and comments like... " Haha u r next" while happily wagging their fingers at me accompanied with a coy smile plastered on their faces. Well, i guess they will stop doing that if i follow suit and say the same thing to them at funerals.

i figured if i say this really fast, it will lessen the agony of pure embarrassment. so here goes, themacsdeliveryguytriedtopickmeup. i honestly thought i have witnessed all kinds of pathetic pick-up tactics but this honestly takes the ~~cake~~ mcspicy value meal. ok bitches, go ahead and laugh... this is for your benefit since i know that ALL my friends will laugh their asses off once i mention this to them.

I am too old and flabby for pageant. Despite repeated hints from Bryan who wants me to say yes to this year's pageant but nah. Where is my walking stick?

The days seem to pass by in a flash and basically the past week was all about SEAFOOD.

On a sidenote, zouking was a different experience this time. Basically, the "we" is not the usual clubbing crowd but nevertheless, we have done everything together - travelling 5 countries, eating, sleeping, snoring, farting, cooking and the list can go on so now, we can check "clubbing" off the list.

Elvin (who is openly bisexual) is the world's weakest drinker. He gets tipsy on one can of beer. (boy, think of the money he saves on drinking) So after 1/4 of a jug of long island tea... well, you get the picture. And trannies like yok. i hope he doesn't read this.

Another attempt to pack my room for the 143054th time. No shoe cabinet in Ikea can house more than 50 pairs of shoes. So this is my last resort.

And i was so damn smug about assembling it without any help. (Dial my hp no. for your daily carpenter. I love DIY stuff) AND THEN i had to wake up the next day with a strained arm after all that hammering.

HE (no names here =) )casually mentioned that a guy only needs 4 pairs of shoes.

My guess is...

1. Working shoes
2. Running shoes
3. Slippers/sandals
4. Going-out sneakers

And it seems like every guy thinks that WE too only need 4 pairs of shoes.

MY LIST:

1. Working shoes - Black pumps, Heels with the back strap, heels with no straps, peep-toes ( multiply this by 100)
2. Running shoes - Nike ( 3 pairs - grey, pink, blue), Adidas ( Blue, White, Pink) etc
3. Slippers - i have too many. Don't bother.
4. Heels. Pumps. In a million shades and designs etc.

the moment the referee called for penalty shootouts, my whole family groaned inwardly. England has the worst record for penalties... oh man. In all honesty, they really SUCK. why..why didn't Gerrard score... is it really true that midfielders shouldn't take penalties? I consider myself to be relatively lucky in life. Be it exams, love, health, family, money and anything you name under the sun. Like how a friend once summarized my life, ''I'm born with a golden teaspoon in my mouth'' (private joke. Hahahahahaha), and somehow or rather I will miraculously scrape through academia as well. But unfortunately this has taught me not to appreciate what I have. People always say 'you only treasure something/someone when it no longer belongs to you'.For the past 21 years (no wait, make that 16. I told some guy in phuture that's how old I am. Or at least that’s how old people think I am. hurhur) Things have been smooth sailing until I entered uni. The transition, the sudden impact of independence thwarted and flirted with my mind and not surprisingly, everything went haywire. I threw away my relationship, studies and I can't remember what else but finally at some point, the haze cleared and I began to think with more clarity. I have no idea what sparked off this entry but I guess in a way, I just treasure everything I have right now.

Right, back to the trip...it was a rollercoaster of emotions because I got rather homesick after a week and half. But overall, it was a fruitful trip filled with plenty of laughs, and the usual eating and shopping. Ok at this point, my lappie failed me and I didn't save the collage I created so everything is GONE.

This is the horrific state of my room after i moved back home. Even my dog has difficulty finding space to walk. But i hauled my lazy ass and finally got down to unpacking or in another sense, throwing away unwanted stuff. This warranted a "cleaning out your wardrobe" day which was a customary annual affair. And now, it is a monthly affair.

i'm still contemplating whether i should get another canon camera (it's gg to cost a bomb sigh) because my canon ixus just went bonkers. well, it has been displaying this "memory-card" error for quite some time already and it's going to cost almost 200 bucks for repairs.

olympus (2nd one) had some camera lens problem ... ARGH

and as for the canon one (first one), i can't remember what exactly happened to it.

this entry is a little post-dated... but as usual.. we ate hongkong food again. -_- The dimsum at ah yat seafood is really good but the service is atrocious. besides skeptical looks thrown our direction, they kept on reminding us : " you all cannot tabao the food" because we ordered wayyyy too much food and they were worried we won't be able to finish it. wad rubbish. it wasn't even a buffet and of coz we didn't have trouble finishing the food.

here i am, sitting in solitude on my bedsheet-less bed in room A516 while waiting for my brother to pick me up. i'm the last in my wing to shift out... always had trouble dealing with goodbyes. 3 years in this place and boy, it will definitely feel weird to move back home. i bid farewell to everyone in blk a, may our paths cross again. =)

i realised that everything in my family comes in pairs. be it good or bad.

my parents, fellow aunts and uncles.. somehow or rather, they have their children in pairs. wad m i talking about?

so far there are 5 pairs of children born in the same year. it's great in the sense that i'm very close to my cousins as there is no generation gap.

unfortunately, death comes in pairs as well.

my maternal grandfather passed away while i was having my o's prelims.. and my paternal grandfather joined him soon after during my o's.

as for illnesses...

my uncle from my paternal family committed suicide 2 days ago as he suffered from severe depression. he jumped down from the 18th floor after penning a suicide note for my cousins.we(my family) are still in shock as it was totally unexpected.

and now my uncle from my maternal family is suffering from some illness and is hospitalised. realli hope that he recovers soon.

n i'm jaded.

how to pursue further studies like tt. -_-

speaking of education, i vaguely remember an incident in nursery class which left a deep imprint in my memory/life.

my teacher gave us this colouring/drawing book and we were asked to fill in the colours neatly into the pictures or draw something tt we like.

there was this boy who consistently made a huge mess out of his colouring book and his drawings were pure crap. But no matter what, the teacher will sing praises of him in front of the class.

so i started wondering why she didn't praise me when i filled in the colours neatly into the colouring book. Even when my drawings were quite passable in my humble opinion.

so out of sheer frustration i decided i don't give a damn about social conformity and Durkheimian's perspective on social order (ok this is out of point), and made a huge mess out of my colouring/drawing book.

AND when she finally saw the huge mess i made, she threw me out of the classroom along with my colouring/drawing book. talk about delinquency at such a young age.

Spiders have spun cobwebs all over this site... I was too preoccupied with more important stuff on my schedule to bother with blogging. For the past 2 weeks, I've managed to accomplish commendable feats that the normal person may not attempt to do so. LOL

Ever tried cramming 32 people in a car the size of a Nissan March? SHqueezers did it. Although we were one person short of clinching the $888 prize, it was pretty fun overall albeit being a bit of a tight squeeze literally. Kudos to all of them!! Since we were unable to shop in town (tt's not the case now)because of our essay deadlines, Ping n I resorted to shopping in campus instead.

Wait, I'm not done yet. The annual “Vanity Fair” held at the central forum carried Clinique and Stila products this year. Everything was going at 60% off and being us, we saved close to $200 bucks on their products. The crowd was crazy but boy was it worth it. =D

I've been meeting these guys for the past two months for supper (at least 4 times a week) and mahjong.

We have been trying to exhaust all the supper places by the end of this year while playing mahjong to keep our minds alert. Our clique has grown closer this year with the exception of some.

Bedok 85, Thomson Prata House, Chomp Chomp, Upper Aljunied Rd, Macpherson, Desker Rd etc.
You name it and chances are we've been there.
